Stories to build confidence
Kenny Wilson – Animator, Author, Artist
Kenny Wilson (1978–present) is a Canadian author and illustrator based in Sudbury, Ontario. Growing up in Northern Ontario, Kenny always dreamed of writing stories that would inspire children to believe in themselves and embrace their inner heroes. At age 40, he fulfilled that dream by publishing his first children’s book, Tommy and the Christmas Coal—a heartfelt tale originally created for his daughter, blending humor, warmth, and a message of self confidence.
Since then, Kenny has written six books, including the beloved Rabbit Girl series and Mitchell and the Mountain of Mittens. His stories often center around young heroes overcoming challenges with courage and kindness. Kenny is currently working on the final installment of the Rabbit Girl series, The Troll King, which marks his debut as both author and illustrator—bringing his characters to life with a personal touch.
In 2021, Kenny expanded his storytelling into animation, producing a short film adaptation of Tommy and the Christmas Coal. In 2023, he launched the animated television series Rabbit Girl and Friends, created for Eastlink Community Television. These projects continue Kenny’s mission to craft empowering stories that celebrate imagination, resilience, and the magic of Christmas.
